A Mighty Big SIn

I hear this month is Child Abuse Awareness Month. This is one topic I hate passionately; I love to hate this topic, because it makes absolutely no sense. With all the grown ups everywhere, why would someone even think of abusing a child? This type of sin must definitely be worse than any other sin, for those who don’t believe in big sin and small sin, this right here is a mighty big sin!

Growing up, we heard of a chemist apprentice who was given his boss’s baby to hold for a few minutes. The baby’s mother quickly needed to take a bath, she was all alone with her baby of about six months old, her husband had gone to purchase more drugs from the big market for his small chemist business. Her other option from leaving the baby all by herself was to have the apprentice hold her while she took a quick bath.

A customer came and asked for a particular drug, the apprentice said that it was not available. She asked for a few more common drugs and he said that those were also out of stock. As she left the place she felt uneasy, first, the boy was holding a baby and sat down the whole time while attending to her, something did not add up ( Thank God the customer was a woman).

The woman went back to the chemist and asked for Paracetamol pain killers, she didn’t ask if it was available, she insisted on being attended to properly. She ordered the boy to quickly get up and sell the drug to her. When the boy attempted to stand, the baby yelled in pain and the woman who was already suspicious leaned over the counter to observe things better.

She noticed that the boy’s pants were loose and she started screaming even without being sure of what was going on, the baby was crying all the while. The baby’s mother appeared at that moment all dressed up and the two women discovered that the upper part of the boy’s penis was stuck in the baby’s vagina, the baby cried in pains each time he tried to pull it out of her. The boy was nearly mobbed to death if not for the police that took him away.

A lot of people chose not to believe the story back then because it sounded so unreal; however, it is a harsh reality that we all have to face now. It happens almost daily. Report shows that about forty million children are abused daily worldwide. Sick! Sick! Sick!  Child abuse naturally evolves to child pornography because no child will ever consent to pornography. Last year alone, in the US, another report shows that child pornography raked in three billion dollars to its evil dealers.

Why will a grown man get aroused by the flat chest or hairless vagina of a child? In rare cases, what will a small crayon like penis of a little boy do to a grown a*s woman? These people are just as sick as sick can be. Anyone who touches a child inappropriately is mentally sick; anyone who sleeps/impregnates a mentally unstable woman is crazy. (These people are like children) Anyone who watches child pornography needs to seek help medically. Anyone who hides a criminal act of child abuse is a demon. Children are so innocent why will anyone want to harm them?

I once wrote a thesis on Child abuse and discovered during my research that most of the perpetrators are close family members/friends which include blood uncles and “uncles”, drivers, stewards, teachers, casual workers around the home and neighbourhood and also the nannies - seven out of ten male friends of mine were disvirgined by their nannies at very young ages. How sad!

The one that beats my imagination is when a father decides to be a devil to his own daughter. A friend once shared a story of his wealthy relative who was sleeping with his own daughter openly, the daughter went on to have two children for him and both he and the daughter asked his wife to go because they were not ready to stop the ugly affair. The general opinion was that the father initiated his daughter into a cult and both were mandated to sleep with each other. The poor wife of the man had to leave her home when it became obvious that her life was in danger. These are stories that depress the heart. I have a story on child abuse anonymously sent to me but I will not share it.

All I want to say is that we should all be vigilant and help the authorities fish out child molesters if they are adults. Some children abuse other children sexually because they do not know any better, those ones need counselling.

I also pray that the police should take this more seriously and have some sort of sex offenders database so that people may have a place to carry out a background check before employing a staff. Even corporate organisations should be able to make use of same database to know if a likely staff is a sex offender. This is a very serious issue and should be treated with every sense of responsibility to our precious little ones.
