I have always had people ask me what cream I use; they say I have a good complexion (blushing). There are also people who try to persuade me to tone up and look a bit brighter. I have always believed that when people say tone that they really mean bleach. One reason I will never consider bleaching is the hard work in it, to be properly bleached you have to take the time to apply the bleaching cream.

And in most cases to get an even skin, you will need a helping hand. Some even have dedicated house maids for this; they reach parts of the body where madam’s hands cannot reach. Then you pay attention to the forgotten parts of the body, the back of the ear, the hairline and the wicked knuckles.  I call the knuckles wicked because no matter how you bleach them they will always give problems. The knuckles sometimes need pacifying by way of sacrifice for them to co-operate with their owners.

I really empathise with people who bleach because it takes a lot of hard work and discipline, a lot of “dos” and “don’ts” the most popular one is the sun rule. They are not allowed to stand in the sun for long to avoid being burnt.

I am not one to condemn those who have changed their skin colours but I always wish that they never did. There’s a new skin care range and I know that if we had this way back a lot of people would have gone for it rather than the whole bleaching thing.
