This "kain" of woman

Annie is a Secretary; I met her during a visit to the organisation where she works. Due to my frequent visits to this office following up on a proposal, Annie and I became friends. During one of my visits, while I waited for my host, we got into a conversation about the family. She has young children and she wanted to know how I coped with my five children when they were much younger. I told her it wasn’t easy but I was lucky to have had a good nanny with my last baby.
Annie said that she was struggling with her three children, she had no help, and she lived with just her husband and children. She would wake up at 4am Monday to Friday to prepare the children’s lunch packs, breakfast and then get them ready for school. Her husband would drop the children at school while she picked them on her way from work because they paid for after school care. When she puts the children to bed, she would clean the whole house, wash the plates and then prepare for the next day.
I could see that Annie was greatly stressed; she even had stress lines on her face (of course I recommended Gluta C). By the time Annie finished narrating her typical day to me, it was obvious that she was a disaster waiting to happen. She only rested on Sundays and so no time to even go to church. I asked if her husband helped with any house chores, she said that he did the laundry and shopping sometimes. She said that her husband was a very good man; he has a very good heart, helped the children with their home work and made sure they were all comfortable.
When she finished talking, I immediately got into my “Dear Dolly” mode and started to counsel her. “Annie, you cannot go on like this, you need help, and you should get one as soon as possible, if not you would break down one day” I went on to tell her that her children were too young to lose their mother. I started making calls immediately to ask if anyone had a link to a good nanny agent. Annie is a very patient and deliberate young lady, she let me say everything that I wanted to say and she listened very carefully to all that I said.
Then Annie said to me, “Sis I forgot to tell you something, my husband loves sex” she said that he never sleeps without having at least two rounds of sex, if she was having her monthly flow, then it was oral sex all the way! I wasn’t sure why she gave me the too much information and then she got to her point, “I cannot have a nanny anymore, I have had three and my husband slept with all three”. Whaat! My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. The last one nearly broke her marriage; she even went diabolical which made her husband confess to her. He caught the nanny trying to put something in his food and raised an alarm, he taught it was poison to kill him, then, the silly nanny confessed that it love portion for him to love her and send Annie away. (Wonders shall never cease, like my mum would say). That incident made him confess to his wife.
Annie told me that she doesn’t love her husband less, they have both identified that he has a big problem, he is naturally not a womaniser but he confided in his wife that he almost cannot resist the urge to sleep with their domestic staff. He gets an excitement that he cannot explain when there is a domestic help in their home. He gave the wife all the gory details of how he did it with them in the maid’s room and in the kitchen and how he left the office a couple of times to come sleep with the nanny.
Annie and her husband decided to seek counselling and afterwards agreed that there would no longer be a domestic staff in their home. By the time she finished speaking, I was speechless. I didn’t and still do not know how to classify Annie. Is she slow or smart? Is she foolish or just kind hearted? I was still thinking and as if she read my mind, she said, “Sis, if I leave my marriage where will I go to with all these children, Wugi doesn’t hit me, he is kind and extremely nice and he loves God. This is the only vice that he has and I want to help him fight it. He caused me pain no doubt but I choose to remember the good part of him”
It was hard to stop thinking about Annie when I left her and this song kept playing in my head, “This kain of woman, I never see am, this kain of woman I never see”. I am also thinking of why a good number of men sleep with their domestic staff. Some men have been bold enough to say (In their language) “Bush p%%$y tastes good” May God help such men to stop!

  2. Amy, thanks for this piece. Many women ordinarily would have walked out of such marriage but our sister applied the spirit of forgiveness and understanding, at last she is an over Comer. Keep this going dear, we love you.

  3. Pleas find a help that comes in only on weekends and wouldn't sleep over. Your life its a time bomb in a city like Lagos. The moment you drop dead, you will still be in the mortuary and he will move on. As much as we love to keep our marriage but not when your life and sanity is at stake. its there no one from his relations not yours. Chai! I pity this kdy for real, she's really a time bomb.

  4. She is a rare breed. Not only for understanding, but also for having the courage to open up to you.

May God help her through it all, with a happy ending. I truly feel for her.

As per advicing her, you never know what you can take, until you are faced with it.And so, I wouldn't dare think I know what best to advice her with.
I just pray it ends well.

  5. Poor Soul with a weak husband like that; prayer all the way. When one is enslaved by vice especially that of lust; the only therapy is intense life of prayer and mortification coupled with spirit of forgiveness.

  6. Who says a nanny should always be a female? She can get a male domestic assistant. I know so many people that had to go that route.

    1. In as much as a male domestic assistant is good, she had to reach an agreement with her hubby which I doubt will go down well with him owing to his past escapades. You know most times our brain could be funny, he might feel that there might be connection between the assistant and the wife though depending on the age.

  7. Men these days need learn to control themselves, it is one thing to take a child to a party, another thing for the child to control him or herself not to filled with mere puf puf when there is meet pie waiting at home, every man likes good thing so lets make our own good, and also to remember self respect

  8. Amen to the prayer! I wonder the "kain" advice you would give to this "kain" Annie of a woman. She has seen it all and yet still standing. Not all will tolerate what she has gone thru. I know what it is like taking care of children cos I have four as well, had to cry it for help because it was becoming choking. God will help the hubby to format his brain to tell his odogwu not to function once it's not his wife. Truly she needs help before she breaks down

  9. Well for me, if the man like he should sleep with his mother. Nonsence, so where is self control. See I have learned that a woman is fragile and need to move in a gentle manner, by the grace of God will get a house help anyhow I want to do it. Tell Annie that when she is in coma in hospital, a nanny will come take care of the children and husband, or probably when she is late.

She should look for a way around it, maybe evening and weekend
    nanny

Am a mother of 5 and I used to believe am Jackie Chan, nobody told me to look for a house help, once their is problem with any, u go and I look for another immediately.

  12. Wugi itaala ahuhu..
prayer is the key to all problems.Thank God Annie says her husband loves God and the things of God but it is also left for her and her husby to challenge God on this insatiable weakness of his and see the result of what prayers does. Bring in male or female nanny all of them comes with their advantages and disadvantages. Problem is not from the nannies but from the man himself. Control! He lacks self-control..
