Men of little faith!

It was my wedding anniversary, and I almost forgot.  Sometimes we miss important dates while we dwell on issues of life.

I remember the day very well,  30th June 2001. I was relatively young,  I didn't know much about the day,  I saw my bouquet that morning,  I remember the British lady in Enugu then who made my bouquet asking me over the analogue phone what I meant by purple roses.  I couldn't answer that question.

My sister did my make up and I got my wedding gown two days before my wedding. I spent the night before my wedding at the tailor's place trying to get the gown to fit my growing tummy.

One thing I paid attention to at my wedding was the police band; I insisted that they played as well and they did.  I wouldn't say my wedding was all that I wanted it to be but it was a joyful day.

It was the rainy season and Victor and I were worried about the rain spoiling our day since it was going to be an outdoor event; his friend offered to take him to a rainmaker to hold the rain on that day. When he mentioned it to me I refused vehemently.

The day came and everything went very smoothly plus the weather was so good but as soon as we got into the car to leave after the reception,  the heavens opened and there was an extremely heavy downpour. While I prayed and thanked God,  Victor laughed very mischievously. I needed no soothsayer,  he visited a babalawo after all to hold the rain! Men of little faith!

Happy wedding anniversary to us!
