Ron Jon and Bob

A Lilea’s blog reader sent me this story,  the story makes me understand all the more that life can sometimes be funny and complicated.  Most times, it does not play out the way it should.

While coming back from a road trip, Ron, Jon and Bob (not their real names) saw a lady standing by the roadside obviously waiting to get a ride to her destination.  It was somewhat a lonely road and they knew that they should get the lady out of a possibly dangerous situation.

The guys stopped and offered the young lady who had just closed from work a ride which she gladly accepted.  Ron, Jon and Bob were young bachelors who lived a happy go lucky kind of life.  They were young,  successful and wild and took life pretty much on the surface.  To them life was all about hard work,  money,  booze and ultimately women. (dangerous if you ask me).

It was a Friday and as they approached town, they asked their new friend who had introduced herself as Ursula(not real name) if she could invite a few friends of hers to go out for the night, it was the weekend anyway! They weren't sure what to expect.

Surprisingly,  Ursula asked the guys to take her to her apartment first,  to freshen up and also try to contact her friends who lived close to her.(there were no mobile phones then).

While in Ursula's home she started to prepare food and while the food cooked, she excused herself to go take a quick bath.

Some minutes later,  the weirdest thing ever happened, Ursula walked out to the living room and was barely covered in a small towel. She walked past the guys to the kitchen and everything that made her a woman was on display, Ron,  Jon and Bob couldn't help but stare at the well endowed lady.

While she dished out the food, her towel dropped, it was obviously intentional, the guys were speechless as she took her time to pick up her towel and by this time the guys were drooling and wondering who would have her first.

The evening got crazy as they took to the bottles and hit the dance floor there in Ursula's living room; at this point they knew that Ursula was more than enough for the sort of illicit fun that they longed for.

Ursula danced with the three guys in turns and when things heated up more,  she ended up with Ron in her bedroom with a promise to Jon and Bob that they would have their time.

While with Ron, she told him that she liked him most and was only going to be with the the other guys because of him; if it would get him upset, she would not go ahead with her promise to Jon and Bob who were waiting like dogs in heat. Ron did not object.

After her romp with Jon,  she got on to Bob (does this really happen?) then came the twist, Bob proposed to her while making out with her. She excused herself and went straight to Ron, "please tell me that your friend is crazy or drunk"  Ron convinced her that Bob was okay while he was eager to find out what he had done to her.  "He wants to marry me" she said.

Ron knew that his friend Bob was unpredictable and hardly said things that he didn't mean though it was hard to believe this one considering the circumstances that surround their meeting with Ursula.

Bob demanded an answer before they left Ursula in the early hours of the morning, she accepted but secretly pleaded with Ron not to reveal that she preferred him.

Bob got married to Ursula that same year and they have lived together now for over twenty years and blessed with four grown children.

Ron is still good friends with the couple, they see very often and still do several businesses together.  There has never been any trust issues and their friendship is still meaningful but for Bob's monster dog that frowns at Ron like it knows his little secret with Ursula.

Now. Was it not God that blessed this couple with children?
How has their marriage survived for 22years considering how they met?
I may never get all the answers but really how do you explain this type of union?
What will they tell their children when asked how daddy and mummy met?

Mine is not to judge but to say that God's hand is in evertything

  3. Like seriously??? This is crazy! Am speechless but like you said the hand of God is in it, it sounds foolish and crazy but the marriage is still standing after two decades. Life is all about mysteries. The moralists will frown at it and condemn the lady outrightly, the religious ones might begin to cast out demons and call fire from heaven but in all these God has the final say. He uses the foolish and the most crazy things to confound the wise.

    1. Dear Amaka,
Even though God does not want our sinning. The only reason HE permits our sins is because HE is capable of drawing good from our sins when we repent and are contrite.

But having said this, sin even in its slightest form remains the greatest and only evil; an obstacle to our happiness which we need to avoid with all our strength.

The punishment due to our sins are not just merely temporal (within our lifetime), it may also be eternal (forever)

Coming to the story at hand; we learn never to judge by appearances since we do not know intentions.

The sinful woman in appearance may had afterwards repented of her actions and had become truly contrite.

Her contrition may have made her closer to God that now explains her fidelity in marriage.

In history, we have seen prostitutes become canonizable saints we revere on the altar.

      We should never condemn anyone.

Yet sin remains the most unfortunate situation.

What happened between the lady and the rascals remains very sinful and most unfortunate.

      Thanks for sharing.

  5. We all take life too serious jor...The marriage has lasted this long due to the level of understanding & openness they have for each other. Most marriages I have seen do not have these qualities.
