Secret Baggage

Every individual has a secret baggage, strange behaviour or habit hidden behind those Brazilian wigs, the make-ups, the GQ suits and very posh looks.

Thanks to the Lilea’s blog reader who commented and mentioned secret sins, it got me thinking of the many sins that people could either be battling with or happy to indulge in.

Some are just really bad habits like nose digging, too much farting, loud burps etc. I once saw an adult dig her nose, she examined the treasure from her nose and maybe thought it was too valuable to throw away so she consumed it. Yes she put it in her mouth, Yuck yuck yuck!  Are you surprised? A lot of people do this.

An elderly male friend of mine once confided me that he still sucks his thumb, I saw his pen and asked why the pen cover was all chewed up, he told me that because he couldn’t suck whenever people were around that he resorted to chewing his pen cover and he showed me plenty more pens with chewed up covers. That is his little secret.

A friend of mine can fart for Africa, so this friend doesn’t go out much for this reason, to make matters worse, the smell of this person’s fart can raise a corpse; it smells really bad! (not saying whether the person is male or female)

So many bad habits like holding the groin for men which they call packing (even the men that have nothing to pack still grab that area as if there is something there, all in the name of packing)

Some women cannot do without pulling out their pant from in between the bum, (don’t even frown, most of us do this.lol). The cause is usually that we have outgrown the underwear but we refuse to let go and so when you wear it, it shifts with every step to your centre part and if you do not pull it out you will know no comfort. Over sized underwears can also cause this, the only solution is to wear your perfect size or wear the G or do not wear at all. Hmm..This is topic for another day.

There are a lot of secret eaters, they eat in the middle of the night and other odd hours when no one sees them, then they say that they just have the fat genes; they constantly lie about food and pretend not to like to eat that much.

A good friend cannot sleep without holding her dirty wrapper, she never washes it and it has to look like a rag; talk about strange habits. I save my ears for weeks and get so excited at the thought of cleaning it with positive results. I hate to see a clean cotton bud after cleaning my ears.

Coming to the serious secret baggage, there are a good number of kleptomaniacs in our society, I am talking about well to do men and women who steal what they can afford.

A certain young girl dates only married men and according to her, they are better lovers and very generous.

Uche (not real name) is having an explosive affair with a family friend who is equally married. He says she is too sweet to let go of.

Fred (not real name) slept with his own sister when they were much younger, he didn’t know any better. It is a baggage he carries heavily.

Jacy (not real name) is attracted to priests only and at some point stopped going to church because she was usually distracted by her fantasies over the officiating priest. It is a demon that she battles till date. (End time person.lol)

Glad (not real name) had an affair with a pastor and would often go from his hotel room to his church, she enjoyed watching him speak with so much authority.  Knowing that she knew him deeper than most of the people in the congregation was a big turn on for her. (Another end time person. lol)

Jon (not real name) is attracted to only older women and Nick (not real name) has slept with almost all the available women in his church. Actually a lot of immorality goes on in the church and this is quite pathetic.

Thousands of students pass in school only when they sleep with their lecturers and they live with the guilt knowing that the high grades were not merited.

A particular woman was depressed in her home for a while till she found a solution; her husband would go in the night and eat all the meat in her pot of soup/stew and leave the food to sour. She started to cook daily only what they would consume immediately, that way her husband’s habit was tamed.

The worst of the secret baggage is the numerous women who were deflowered by their fathers. Appalling indeed, this is difficult to get over and some are still going through counselling.

The list is endless, is yours listed here? Some of mine are. Hahahaha! Anyway, it is consoling to know that God does not care about our baggage, secret sins or bad habits, He is able to restore our self worth. Whatever you are battling with, just give it all up to Jesus and you will be glad you did.
