It works

A friend who I had not seen in about six weeks visited recently and looked absolutely gorgeous. Her dress was lovely and she had even lost a bit of weight. We gisted for a while catching up on gist, ate and drank some liquor.

She looked amazing and I couldn’t stop complimenting her, I was genuinely happy to see her and we spent a long talking and laughing. I laughed so hard at some the jokes that we shared and it felt really good. Laughter truly is the best medicine, I forgot all the major tasks ahead of me and I strongly felt that all would be well.

Then my friend said something that I had never paid attention to, “you are not afraid to pay compliments” and I didn’t quite understand. The normal thing is praise something good and condemn the bad one, so I didn’t think it was special.

By the time we were done discussing this topic it became clear to me that people especially the women hardly pay compliments. My friend is of the opinion that the average woman does not want the next woman to look better than her. To me, any woman who feels threatened by another woman’s looks is below average. She told me it was a good quality that I should hold on to. Thank you dear friend for making me feel good about myself.

When it was time to leave, I walked her to the gate and that when I saw her legs, they were glowing and also looked like they were reflective. I told her immediately that even her skin looked great. It was at this point that she said something very unexpected but made me very happy.
