Why pray?

My apologies for not posting on Boxing Day. I was on the road to the east after all, what is the holiday without touching base with loved ones?

My journey home made me realise certain things, first, the trees and the grasses were the same colour green from the West to the East. So its definitely one Nigeria.

Some people were packed like sardines in small buses yet filled with smiles and laughter just because they would see loved ones. Second lesson, there's more to being happy than luxury.

I saw a few accidents not fatal though but these were people who set out with the hope of arriving their destinations without glitches. Third lesson, it's not about the planning but Grace.

I saw father, looked at his eighty six year old body that I had seen a million times, yet it reminded me of life's reality. Once boisterous and full of energy but now gentle, calm and feeble.

Father's usual response to "Are you okay?" made a lot of sense.  "I'm fairly alright, just old age"

What are the benefits of old age if at this stage in life you cannot do exactly all that you want to do. No sugar, no alcohol, no red meat etc etc. And loads of tablets for all sorts of ailments.

You walk deliberately for obvious reasons. Like my boyfriend the Doyen told me, at that age when you get up to move you first have to wait, listen to your body and hear what it's saying to you.

He says if you do not do that you may just find yourself face flat on the floor. So I ask again, why pray for old age?

Good and successful children, beautiful grand children and great grandchildren in special cases. And most especially the rare opportunity to make peace with the Creator. These are the benefits and more.

I pray we all live long in good health of mind and body; surrounded with so much love just like father.

My Lokpanta has limited network hence my late post. I'll try to post some sights and sounds of my Lokpanta.

  1. Old age is amazing only when there are much fruits of love, care and a good sense of being wanted(relevance).
Earlier in life I never wanted to get past 60years so as to exit when the ovation is still very high.
I was afraid of being irrelevant and having to have my kids buy me clothes I couldn't adorn with enough swag.😜
But as time went by I saw my mum aging and I kept holding her up and making sure she lives a very looooong life regardless.

Then and only then did my perception change. Now I want to live to be a hundred and to see my children become grannies and still be able to stand upright and speak good English in a public lecture or forum😜.
    I don't want arthritis.
But I would love to grow old with beautiful and even long gray hairs😜.
    Amen🙏🏽🙏🏽
