How did we get here?

I've asked this question in an earlier post and I ask again,  what is the worth of a Nigerian life?

We have all been bombarded with the disturbing news of all the killings in  recent times especially the latest one in Benue state.

If people are dying in this magnitude when there's no war what will happen when there's actually a war?

Our once peaceful nation has turned into a land of hatred and insecurity. Peace and unity are very scarce commodities now.

The gruesome ways these murderers kill their victims is most heart wrenching. How does a human being with a heart raise a weapon against a helpless child?

How do you kill a pregnant woman? Oh my goodness, something is terribly wrong!

Do not take people unawares, if you want to fight just take on someone your own size. And do not sneak in on people like a coward.

People dying is no longer news but how does the father of every Nigerian respond to the killing? This is what kills me and I cannot help but wonder how we got to this level.

The life of a cow is more valuable than you and I. That is about the worth of a Nigerian life.

If you are still hoping that things will get better with this present leadership, then you need help very fast before it becomes a yabaleft (mental) case.

I stand with all those who lost one, two or more loved ones and property in all the mayhems.

I can only imagine the grief and the pain, I know what it means to sleep at night with both eyes open and unsure of what will happen next.

I think of my old man everyday, Lokpanta is not strange to Fulani herdsmen invasion. We received them with open arms but our girls can no longer go to the farms alone for fear of being raped by these perverts.

There's a gariki, an Hausa community right there in the next Lokpa town. Over a million Northerners live there in peace but I fear the day something goes wrong and they lift their daggers.  Where will my old father run to?

Something needs to be done very fast. We all co-habited peacefully in the past. All the tribes of Nigeria were once at peace with each other,  how the *++@* did we get here?
