TGIF!
It's a beautiful day in Lagos today, the sun is bright and cheerful and one can't help but be in a good mood.
The biggest lesson I learnt last year is not to judge.
Women are the most judged in Nigeria. I haven't seen a successful woman who hasn't been pointed at accusingly hereĺ in Nigeria.
The worst hit are women in politics. Every female politician has slept her way to that position.
The mindset in Nigeria is very disturbing and so unfavorable to the women. I, particularly have been discouraged from going into politics. "Amaka all the ogas will chop you" that is all I hear. Am I a piece of wood to be chopped?
Delia was the neighborhood garden and anyone who had a hoe cultivated this garden. She had no discretion, every Tom Dick and Harry had his way with her and she simply did not care.
Even becoming a mother did not change Delia, she was like a dog on heat and would stop at nothing to get a piece of some action.
Then came the day of doom, she had as usual gone on one of her sexual escapades. On that day, her child was involved in a domestic accident which was very fatal.
Trust human beings, tongues wagged, "Finally the sins of the mother have caught up with the children" "No sinner will go unpunished" this that!
What has an unfortunate accident got to do with the sins of a mother. And by the way how do you know what she's been up to? Do you move around with her?
As Delia walked into the compound, she saw a lot of blood all over the ground and she immediately asked of her children.
The look on her neighbour's face told her that she was doomed. They took her to the hospital where her child was breathing her last; it was a very bad fall.
The doctor told her that the chances were quite low and they needed to move her to an Intensive Care Unit miles and miles away(ills of a failed nation). It was midnight and there was no ambulance. It was certain that the child would not make it to the next day.
Delia knelt down and cried to her God. Some of the neighbours and friends were filled with pity, how can God answer the prayer of a common whore.
The child looked lifeless, her breathing got weaker and weaker but Delia never stopped praying. Her child stopped breathing in the early hours of the morning, everyone wailed and it quite chaotic.
Delia insisted on waiting for the doctor to arrive in the morning to declare her daughter dead. She wouldn't let the nurses take her away.
As they made arrangements for the mortuary the doctor arrived and in a few minutes he announced that the little was doing better than the night before.
He asked the nurses to pass the lines for some intravenous treatment. "Madam it's a miracle, I don't know what happened but she's doing a lot better" The doctor said she must have fallen into a brief coma.
In a week Delia went home with her daughter in great shape.
How many "righteous" people will experience this sort of miracle?
How many of you judges and prayer warriors and church goers and permanent front benchers in church and alleluia shouters are able to pray a dead child back to life?
He shows mercy to whoever he chooses to show mercy. Can't you see that the race is not to the swift?
On this beautiful Friday morning, it's important for you to judge less and if you are being judged please remember that you are the offspring of a loving Father. He will rather fix you, judgement will come later and hopefully when you are ready to face the panel
God's way is never our way. He shows Mercy to whosoever he chooses irrespective of position.
ReplyDeleteThe people that judge others are pure failures looking for ways to console their bad situation.
