Truly Forgive

All she wanted was to fall in love and she fell hard for the only guy that she ever fancied.

Just once and she fell pregnant by him. She was humiliated by her family and Sid's family. No one believed that it was her first time.

She was forced to have the baby at just fifteen years old. She was out of school for two years and if not for her grand mother that asked to look after her baby she would have stayed longer at home.

But mama took her baby and made Kasi return to school. It was tough but she kept going. Her mother scolded her at every little mistake and never failed to remind her of how she disgraced the whole family.

Her father simply ignored her and life was hell for the young lady.

Fast forward to  twenty years, Kasi is a top executive, Nicole her daughter is on an academic scholarship in a foreign university.

Kasi is single by choice and has an amazing life.  Her best friend is her daughter and they travel the whole world together. Sid continues to try to have a relationship with the child he denied. He's in a very bad marriage.

Kasi bought mama a car and got her a driver before she passed. Her father took over the car like he prayed for his mother to die. Lol

No prize for guessing who foots the bills.   Kasi forgave her parents and moved on. She does everything for them but may never be as close to them especially her mother as they want her to be.

Her mother wants her to attend every function in her church. The last time she almost screamed at her to stop showing her off to people like she had always been there for her.

"Forgive others not because they deserve it but because you deserve peace" - source unknown.

Kasi is struggling with forgiveness but life has been too good to her that it should be easy to truly forgive.

PS: This is a story I coined from someone's experience and the names are fictitious.

Are you at a low point in life and feeling like the storm will never end?  I have news for you and you've probably heard it before.  Once there's life,  there's definitely hope!

Finding it hard to forgive? There's nothing like I forgive but I will never forget, just let it all go.  Forgive and forget are inseparable and if you can't forget then you can't truly forgive; that hurts the soul.

This Thursday be inspired to shake it all off for the space to do exploits!

  1. Sometimes it is harder to forgive especially when the people or person that wronged us are the ones closest to us. Not saying its right but hey.

  2. Though a hard and difficult thing to do, easier said, it brings peace to your being! It's a dangerous burden to bear and the devil will always scream out loudest, listing all the ills meted out on you by the person or persons you need to forgive for your own sanity! Yes, as Ghandi truly said, only the strong, the brave, the tough persons can truly forgive! Only the grace of God with the one hurt cooperating with His grace, that can forgive! We pray for complete submission to God's grace in us!

  5. Forgiveness...easier said than done. God will help us to try and forgive. But even when you forgive, to forget it is a different ball game. I rest my case!
