No Hard and Fast Rules 2

Adaulo's pictures from childhood were framed and hung on different parts of Eloka's apartment.

She froze at the door. Was this man a stalker? She immediately knew that Eloka couldn't have gotten her pictures without her parent's connivance and so she wasn't sure if she should be angry or happy.

But this wasn't the only surprise. Adaulo spent five whole days in Eloka's house. On the last day she sat in the living room while Eloka took a shower, that was their routine he promised not to try to get intimate with her so they carefully maintained their lanes so to say.

She quickly went to the door and there stood a Lady way older than her who demanded with so much hostility to see Eloka. (There must always be "the other woman" Guys why?)

Eloka came rushing out and he began to stammer, "Uju, I..I ...I ....told you it was o..ver between us". "Really?" came the harsh response. "No, it's not like that, but try and understand"

Adaulo could not believe the drama that was happening right in her presence. This man who almost lived in her house had another woman. Unbelievable!

She regretted giving in to him out of pity the night before. 

While the drama unfolded, she quickly grabbed her things and picked a cab right in front of Eloka's house and left that town.

Here was an opportunity for her to do what she had always wanted to do.

Jide was an expatriate who lived on her street. She met him on her way from her extra classes in another part of town and it was a huge coincidence to discover that they both lived on the same street. He gave her a ride and by the time he dropped her off close to her house, they had delved into different conversations and found out that they had a lot in common. Adaulo was brilliant and Jide marvelled at how she had an insight to almost every topic. 

From that day, she began to imagine what it would be like to be with a guy as old as Jide. He was quite charming and she longed for a chance at love with him but knew that it wouldn't happen; not only was he a lot older than her, he also had children from a previous marriage. Her parents would never allow it; secretly, they remained good friends.

Adaulo went straight to Jide's house as soon as she got into town. In her words, "the night and the ones that followed were explosive"

She spent two straight weeks with Jide and they both couldn't get enough of each other; she told him all that had happened to her and he provided a shoulder to cry on. She felt forced into having a relationship with Eloka.

Eloka had gone to her hostel everyday to look for her without luck. He was told in her faculty that she attended lectures every day but left as soon as the last class was over. 

Adaulo avoided Eloka and focused on her new love. She even ignored him when he suddenly walked up to her during school hours on a Friday. Eloka waited till her last class and then watched as she got into Jide's car without saying a word to him.

Adaulo was in a world of her own, this was all she ever wanted, the relationship didn't have to end in marriage.  She loved Jide, he loved her right back and did things to her that no man would ever have the ability to do to her.

He was not only good in bed, he paid attention to her and knew exactly what she needed at any given time. Adaulo was very happy and so was prepared to do whatever it took to be with Jide.

The next time she got home, she was told by her aunty that Eloka and his family would be coming that weekend to formalise their union traditionally. Union?!

While she cried her hearts out to Jide, he pleaded with her to carry on with the marriage. If he was sure of anything, it was Eloka's remarkable love for her. He knew that she was with another man yet wanted so badly to make her his wife.

Eloka and Adaulo have been married for many years and she's grateful to Jide for his good counsel. Her marriage is a very good one, they have beautiful children and Eloka is an extremely successful business man. He has never stopped making her happy.
