Iwe!

It was a hot exchange of words between Amanda and the lady in charge of the rooms at a recently concluded seminar she attended with some of her club members.
Her hotel room was erroneously assigned to another guest and her belongings removed. She became livid when the hotel staff who she had gone to complain to lied that she was initially given a different room.

It was a temper rising afternoon as the two women rained abuses on themselves. The audience quickly increased, many people especially the non Nigerians in the hotel lobby stared in horror at the show of shame.

After the marathon seminar and the drama that happened earlier that day, it was finally time to unwind in the evening.

The gala night was held by the pool side and while Amanda enjoyed the night with some friends, she sighted the young lady who had made her afternoon quite stressful. All of a sudden, an evil thought flooded her mind.

The young lady was busy serving guests and as she carried a tray of drinks towards her direction, Amanda got up, went towards her and pushed her.

As the young woman fell towards the deep end of the pool, with her free hand, she pulled Amanda and both women fell into the water.

Unfortunately, not one of them could swim and people called out to the pool attendants as both women struggled in the water. Two men eventually jumped into the water in their clothing. Two other hotel staff jumped in as well to help the first responders pull the women to safety.

Everyone watched and hoped that the two women would be fine.

The evening suddenly became tragic within seconds when the two ladies did not respond to CPR, the music had stopped a while back and it was replaced by shouts and cries of people.

There were even more wailings as the lifeless bodies of the women were carried out of the pool area. Amanda's friends were shocked and could not make sense of how someone they were laughing with minutes before lay lifeless before them.

How would they break such tragic news to their club and her family? They had no idea that she was still so upset by the earlier events of the day.

Anger is quite destructive and is capable of destroying the person who is foolish enough to create a space for it.

The only way to deal with anger is to let it go ~ my quote ~

On a happier note, this story ended at the fifth paragraph. There was no pushing and there were no deaths.

My other name is Amanda and in this story I tried to imagine what would have happened if the anger I felt had lasted longer than necessary.

Its easy to see how anger complicates little issues. My peeps will say "Iwe a joka" which literally means, "Anger is ugly"

I wish you all an anger free life!

  9. Amaka the Maradonna. I hope you will not give bp with your expensive jokes. If actually Amanda had done that, one would have said that she is callous.
