Leave or Stay

In the past few days, I have heard all sorts of strange news around the world but the one of a man whose penis was cut off for sleeping with a married woman by the spouse of the married woman gave me the chills. 

I saw the video and it was quite gruesome. The man who cut off the penis even refused to release it to the victim stating that he would use it as an exhibit in a court of law.

I wonder how a man would do such a thing to a fellow man, I thought men were nicer to each other, I guess not when it has to do with harvesting where one did not sow.

So what happens to the woman who opened her farm to be freely cultivated? I will never support the dehumanisation of any human being for their sexual exploits.

The average man or woman is stained including the man who cut off his fellow man’s penis; oh it was such an eye sore! We all have our sexual fantasies and those who have lived out theirs carry such secrets to their graves.

I used to be very naïve and saw people only at a face value, but now I know that even the scarf tying and long skirt wearing woman might be carrying a particular burden which is usually the sin of sexual immorality. It's important to note that an action becomes a burden if we allow it to weigh us down. 

Self forgiveness is crucial! No matter how huge you think your sin is forgive yourself and continue to live. Failing to forgive oneself will prevent the real forgiveness from up above.

If only we had the power to see through people and into their past, we would see people who have slept with their best friends’ spouses. We would see people who have slept with their friends’ fathers or mothers. There definitely would be  husbands who have or are still sleeping with the house maids/nannies and wives who have or are still sleeping with the drivers or house boys. 

Some would be engaging in threesome with their spouses and others would have engaged in same sex intimacy. Some may have even slept with minors and mentally unstable people or even with strangers that they do not even remember  their names. I could go on and on, yet we carry on like saints.

An Igbo proverb when translated means, “All dogs eat faeces but the only guilty one is the one that has the faeces in its mouth”

Some go from the pulpit or podium where they had just finished speaking to people on how to stay holy right into the arms of their lovers. It is no surprise that those who speak against sexual immorality are most guilty themselves and so take the most extreme actions.

Recently, the head of a prominent charity that campaigns against child abuse was arrested for trying to arrange to RAPE multiple children as young as two. The twenty two year old Joel Davis was the chairman of the ‘International Campaign to Stop Rape and Gender Violence in Conflict’. 

Usually the best way to fight our demon is to fight it literally.

All I am trying to say is that it is very wrong for someone to carry out such a gruesome act just because two consenting adults had sexual intercourse. I really need to know if the man who committed the dastardly act has been arrested and charged to court. 

Another video was circulated of a man who was stripped and flogged mercilessly for sleeping with another man’s wife; in another one the naked man was receiving hot slaps from his friend who all the while was shouting insults on him. 

In a similar video the husband was mean enough to show his wife’s identity and forced the secret lovers to keep doing “it”. Sad! Sad! Sad!

I usually delete such videos and ask the senders not to spread such nonsense. If you discover that your spouse is cheating on you, you have two options; leave or stay. 

Jungle justice does not solve anything!
