Finally a Real Woman

In a similar story Ife had been married for six years without a child.

In a society where women are made to take all the blame for infertility, Ife was held responsible for the delay in getting pregnant.

Her husband Ingram would never protect her from his family who would always say hurtful things to her at the slightest opportunity.

He sometimes gave the attitude that he was unhappy with their marital situation subtly insinuating that his wife had fertility issues.

Ife resolved to praying and hoping that one day God would open her womb to bear children.

Ingram refused to undergo any kind of medical check to ascertain that he was okay. He sometimes boasted to Ife about the number of girls he got pregnant in the past.

In a stroke of fate, Ife ran into her ex boyfriend when she visited her parents in the town where she grew up.

Sondu was the first man in her life and both of them were quite an item in those days. He left the country to further his studies after University and gradually their relationship faded.

She met her husband when she worked as a student on industrial attachment in the organisation where he worked. She was dating Sondu who was  very much around then and so even though they became good friends she rejected his gestures to get romantically involved.

Two years after Sondu left she started dating Ingram and by the following year they got married.

She always wanted to have children early so she felt like she jumped into a wrong marriage for the wrong reason which failed to materialise.

Sleeping with Sondu was easy peasy for Ife. By the second day after they met again. Ife and Sondu were digging it like old times.

From that day till she returned to her base she saw Sondu every day and each day they tilled the ground.

A month after she returned to base Ife began to have pregnancy symptoms. 

Ife knew without a doubt that Sondu was the father of her baby because she could never really be intimate with Ingram her husband after she returned from her eventful holiday.

After a test cinfirmed that she was really pregnant, it did not matter to her anymore; she was finally a real woman. 

Holding her test result, Ife excitedly announced to her husband that she was pregnant but his reaction shocked her.  Ingram immediately jumped from his chair and began to call her all sorts of horrible names.

She wasnt moved because she knew that indeed the baby in her was not her husband's child. 

What shocked her was her husband's confession that he was impotent and could never get a woman pregnant.

She became very angry and charged at him. She was angry that this man had known all the while that he had a problem and left her to wallow in misery.  

Now Ife has filed for a divorce and her family is solidly behind her.

Ingram does not want a divorce and is asking Ife to abort the baby because she committed adultery.
