Amaka's New Year Message

It's another opportunity of 365 days to give another shot at the things that matter to us. Note I did not say things that matter in life. The things that matter to A may mean absolutely nothing to B. 

This message is actually note to self, last year I pledged to live without regrets and to a certain extent I did that.

This year I will live just like I lived in the past. Lol! I've lived long enough to know that new year resolutions end a week after and most do not even see the light of day. 

I will love more, give more, smile at strangers and laugh wildly till I cry. And yes I will also cry if I need to. It doesn't mean I'm weak like my sister said to me. I agree, my tears show that I'm human with feelings and when I'm hurt they will flow freely. 

I will definitely pray more and pray over every single thing. I will even pray before I pee. God is the centre of my life and I intend to keep it that way and even give Him more space in my life.

I'll preach the gospel to my friends and strangers some times and desist from vulgar talks most of the time.

I will play really hard and no I do not have to work too hard to have a nice time. I will work right and smart, put in my best and will not sweat the small or big stuff.

I will take more risks (this is not a promise) and go all the way at some things for anything worth doing is worth doing well. Right?

If you know me don't be surprised to see me at your door, I will visit more people not because life is too short but for the sake of it. 

I'll scale, polish and whiten my teeth for a better toothpaste advert smile, age has really yellowed my teeth. 

I will listen to gossips, juicy ones after all what is life without gossip? But be ready to defend yourself when I spill the beans.

When I hear unpleasant things about Amaka, I'll ask me for an explanation and I will believe and journey on. Azuanuka Okwuakagi is my new name. I'll translate if you ask.lol

I will definitely be a better daughter, sister, wife, mother,  sister in law, friend and boss. I will be a better version of me.

I should drink less alcohol but then life could be too boring. I should eat less just so my stomach and thighs can shrink to let me wear bum shorts in peace. I should also work out and lift weights more so I can beat bad behaviours out of some people.

Going grey on my hair, my eye brows and other areas (on my chin before corrupt minds start to wonder) and the wrinkles on my forehead are indications that Ada is no longer a girl.  So I will live, live and live some more.

My message to you reading this is, you have just two choices in life, to be either good or bad. There's no room for lukewarmness. Even the bible rejects lukewarm people.

If you want to be good be very good and if you want to be bad biko be horrid. No pretence please.

The question is, how do you want to be remembered? As a good or bad person? You are an adult and so the choice is yours!

May I use this opportunity to appreciate all Lilea's blog readers for sticking with me over the past few years. You keep me going by your support and you make me see that the promised land is not too far.

I'll remember you when the money starts coming in millions I promise. Please do not give up on me, keep reading, keep sharing and please click on the adverts you see on my blog. 

A lot of people have reached out to me to say that they confuse my blog for another blog that sounds similar. I'm now thinking of changing to Amaka's blog or something else. What do you think? Please your opinion matters a lot.
