The shaming continues. Two videos that made the headlines on social media today were dehumanizing, barbaric and wicked.
To strip an adult butt naked and take a video or pictures of that person is the worst that can happen to the person.
In the first video which came in three parts, a well endowed lady was caught sleeping with a married man and she was badly beaten by a particular lady who is said to be the married man's sister.
The woman who was caught in the act was flogged like a baby by a woman that she could have easily beaten if fairly challenged to a fight.
She also suffered a lot of verbal abuse; she was called "o la di mmadu" putting it as decently as possible it means the one who sleeps with another woman's husband.
She begged for a little decency but all her pleas fell on deaf ears as the woman who obviously had some support in the background lashed out strokes of cane on her bare body with the painful part of a leather belt.
Shaming her indoors was not enough for the furious woman, she wanted a total disgrace for the woman and so she made her leave the compound and go into the street naked.
Her first spectators were men who pleaded with the angry woman to have pity on her fellow woman.
In all of these, the man who was a willing party to the indecent act did not in any way appear in the video. The angry woman was cunning enough to protect her brother in law's image and reputation.
When will people learn that it is evil to expose another person's nakedness to the public.
God was kind and gracious enough to clothe Adam and Eve with animal skins before they were chased away from the garden of Eden. That is to show how deep and precious a human being's nakedness is.
In the second video the elderly man was stripped and made to sit on the floor in the flat of the man whose wife he went to bulala.
The husband of the woman who was obviously beneath the man who allegedly slept with his wife hurled insults at the poor man who he claimed was a father figure to him.
Illegal sex they say is the sweetest but it is equally terribly bitter when one is caught in the act.
Why would a big man sneak into a flat for some quick action? He's even stingy and reckless but I won't say 'serves him right' because we all know that when it comes to matters of rock and roll, men lose their senses temporarily.
What I'm almost sure of is that everyone living has a skeleton in his wardrobe. Those doing the shaming may even be involved in the same act they made a show of.
Till there's a strict law against such behaviour, the shaming will definitely continue.
Adultery is a sin but not a crime; physical assault is a crime and I hope these culprits will be brought to book.
While we wait for the authorities in charge to do their job, I dare say let he that is without sin cast the first stone.
Nice read I must say. Like you said we all have skeletons in our cupboard. It may not be adultery or likes but we all do have hidden guilty pleasures here and there.
ReplyDeleteI dont subscribe to such dehumanization, sometimes on this light I say social media has done more evil than good. Everyone wants to tell a story.
I believe there are still better ways to solve and handle this matter than striping people naked,tongue lashing and subjecting them to pain and shame. It is enough shame that they have been caught so why rub it in the more?
Adultery is not good but at the same time dehumanization is not the best solution to it.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, I think is the hurt from the betrayal by parties that usually leads to dehumanising shame. Sometimes it is difficult to control one's emotions when you caught your partner pants down, especially when you be making sacrifice to keep the relationship. The side that I hate must is that only the woman is put to shame when caught yet two where involved. If the two where ment to suffer the same humiliation I will not worry

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately women are worse enemies to fellow women. The question here is? Why would a woman go and grace a fellow woman's bed in her matrimonial home??? No respect for fellow woman no matter the attraction from the man ...it's unfair. Her punishment was barbaric though but it seems like they have been waiting for her.

Mmmmmmm. I kind of agree with you Iphie. Why would a woman go to another woman's house to grace her bed. She was caught in another's house. This issue for me is 2 sided, from man's angle, i love it. I wish everyone sleeping with married men will be dealt with like this. If you see the tears of those that are hurt, you will understand. But from God's angle we look at forgiveness and act with caution. We try to make sure we do not go beyond a reasonable point.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing am always thinking about is that most times, women are usually the ones disgraced maybe because the man is still needed in the home, lol, but women are know and taught to have more will power to say no to issues concerning sex. Mmmmmmm This life.

ReplyDeleteSuch a shame, when it happens all the blame goes to the woman. What of the man he did not even show any concern for the lady. It's really unfair. Well what can I say the deed hS been done.

ReplyDeleteNothing can qualify such a hostile barbaric action as to stripping someone naked or even whipping them.
I think it should not be allowed. It's painful to catch your husband with another woman so the best thing is to avoid it.
I know a woman who will never spy or try to follow her husband. A friend reported her husband to her that she saw him in a hotel with another woman...this friend drove her from her house and told heer to never step her feet in her house again.
That's the way...see nothing, hear nothing focus on your prayer for deliverance
