"You are what you eat" is a phrase that meant little or nothing until I encountered a woman in a flight.
First of all, she asked for an extended seat belt; now we have a picture of her size.
She ate every single thing on her breakfast table and I gave up when she started to lick her spoon after she finished a pack of chocolate mousse.
Yet again she ate the tasteless rice like it was a delicious plate of agonyi jollof rice. I must confess that I committed sin watching her.
After she spread cheese on her crackers she relaxed and closed her eyes as she took the first bite. You could tell that she was in her heaven.
This woman loves food. After her meal, she brought out a notebook and started to crosscheck her list; I could tell that she was definitely on a business trip.
When she stood up to use the bathroom, I could not believe the size of her butt and I wondered how she was able to fit into an economy seat.
I also wondered why she made it a duty to finish every single food that was placed in front of her even though she was that heavy.
That phrase finally made sense to me and I knew at that moment that I wouldn't want to be like her.
I actually do not want to be what I eat. I do not want to be the yam, eba or abacha that I love so much.
I guess it's too late for wishful thinking because I already see what I eat on me. My legs are nicely formed like two tubers of yam.
The eba reincarnates as often as I eat it on my belly. I love salads and all but they do make me salivate that much and I'm not a goat.
I haven't eaten beef for weeks and I already have withdrawal symptoms and I'm wondering how the weight watchers/dieters or keep fitters do it.
Kudos to those who are able to say no to the food that they love. I applaud you and pray that one day I'll be like you.
To the lady that gave me something to blog about while on air, I hail your unbothered attitude about what you are and eat.
Life is for the healthy and only the healthy can eat what they choose to.
However you choose to live, live it unapologetically. The life is yours, the fat is all yours and the sickness that comes with it is all yours too. Peace!
