The American Dream

Sometimes life takes advantage of our vulnerability and we are left wondering how we let that happen.

Chasing after the American dream comes with a lot of sacrifices; families are separated, trusts betrayed and relationships lost.

Husbands and wives who later reunite live together knowing in their hearts that either of them had been with someone else; but that's okay as long as it is for the ultimate American dream.

Wives have had to act as their husbands' sisters and then weep all through the night as the American wife  moans from the pleasures of a strong African and beautifully shaped tortilla.

Young Kofi just like others had an American wife arranged for him when he arrived the Almighty United States. He kept his own part of the deal by paying the agreed amount of money to his fake wife.

Months into their fake union, Kofi's American wife started to make extra demands. She wanted to buy everything in vogue and seeing that Kofi had the African hustling spirit she knew she would have her way.

Kofi had a target and wouldn't let anything stop his dream. He provided whatever she wanted just to keep her happy.

After some time Kofi entered into a negotiation with Keyesha his American wife. He asked for her punani in return for the extra favours he did for her.

Keyesha welcomed his request and so began the real co-habitation of the couple. In one year the couple welcomed a child.

It was after the second baby that Kofi wanted out. How would he explain to Amma his lovely lawfully wedded wife back in Ghana  that he had two offshoots while he pursued the ultimate American prize.

Keyesha wouldn't back out that easily, she wanted one more child. She always wanted three children whenever the time came and unlike most of her American peers she desired one father for all her three children and Kofi was definitely the one.

Keyesha was with her third child when Amma was finally able to join her husband.

Kofi had everlasting ties with Keyesha and found that it was impossible to keep her out of his life. They had three beautiful children together and he was fully responsible for them.

They parted peacefully and he got Keyesha a beautiful home to live in with her children since their fake divorce was through even before Amma arrived.

He visited his children very frequently and as they say 'the tortilla is not schooled' Kofi also visited Keyesha's punani as often as they couldn't resist each other.

He still provided for her and so felt entitled to be satisfied by her.

Without sitting down and drawing up a plan Kofi became polygamous. He didn't hide his continuous affair with Keyesha. It was clear to his wife Amma and everyone who knew Kofi that he was keeping two homes.

Kofi already had three children with Amma before his adventure in the United States.

He took very good care of his two families and guess what? Amma was happy with the whole arrangement just as long she was living the American dream.

Me: This American dream has done a lot of damage. Amma's attitude to me is an easier way to deal with a complicated situation.

  1. This American dream is so horrible. I know a family friend who travelled with his wife. They just finished their wedding and then travelled. So to obtain his paper they both lived in different states so she won't feel the pain of seeing her husband with oyibo.

What he did was amazing. He behaved as if he was very lazy. He worked little and didn't keep clean. This was to make her hate him and be able to set him free as soon as he got his papers. He never let her know he was educated and even a medical doctor and had plans to further studies.

So she let him go immediately and he moved from there to join his wife. They're very happy and have children.

There was no need for Kofi to have another family.
