Sometimes, freedom makes women truly very stupid.
How else do I explain a married woman having a crush on a stranger?
Tara bought some clothes from her friend who had them delivered by her cousin who coincidentally was going the same direction.
She got her package from the guy and was blown away by his appearance. The fragrance of his oud perfume and his sleek car gave him away as a wealthy guy and so she was impressed by his humility.
She asked how her friend was able to convince such a big boy to run an errand for her.
Abike was his favourite younger cousin and she lived with him when he was still married after she was posted to serve in Oyo state.
All Tara heard was "when I was married" that meant he was available.
They spoke for at least thirty minutes laughing like they had always known each other.
Tara's husband was out of town for a funeral and didn't think Tara should come. It was the first time they were apart in a long time and Tara was excited about her brief freedom.
She was in that kind of mood to mingle and so accepted an invitation to hang out later that day.
Venue was a private bar and Tara was fifteen minutes early. She claimed she's always on time. Really? She had fallen in love with this new man.
She had been sitting for over two hours when it occurred to her that Stan wouldn't be coming. He also did not take her calls. She was heartbroken.
She cried all the way home. As she stepped into the shower her tears flowed more, mingling with the water.
She wanted to see Stan so badly, to talk to him, laugh at his humour and possibly have him hug and even kiss her.
She had been married for twenty years and has grown children; never in all her years of marriage had she longed for another man the way she did Stan.
There had been a few oohs and aahs over guys but nothing as deep as what she felt from the first day she set eyes on Stan.
That night after she met him, she gave her security man the five thousand naira he had asked for and excitedly asked him not to pay back.
She was soaked in her own juice just thinking of Stan later that night and looking forward to their date which never happened.
She couldn't sleep and then at about 4am she got a text message.
"I'm sorry I stood you up today, it was intentional. You are a beautiful woman and my cousin spoke so highly of you. She referred to you as her prayer warrior filled with grace and anointing.
A few minutes of pleasure could ruin you for ever. It is not worth it".
He sent her a video of a married woman caught by the diabolical magun followed by another video of a married woman caught with a man and both were stripped naked. In the first video the narried woman covered her face with the bed cover and people tried to pull it away.
"I hope these videos bring you back to reality".
The scales suddenly fell from her eyes and she realised that it wasn't love after all. She felt digusted at herself and Stan for leading her on. It wasnt love after all, love is not short term. All she could text back was "Thank you sir", she deleted his number and prayed for her dear husband to come home safely.
Me: A lot of women keep crying for freedom; freedom to travel, go out and come home at any time and basically do whatever they want. You hear silly statements like "I need some space" or "I need a breathing space" but the question is, can women really handle freedom?
My answer is 'not really'. A lot of women are shallow and do not realise how vulnerable they can be till they make a mistake that can never be undone. Stan is a teaser but with a kind heart. A lot of men would have taken advantage of her which she would definitely live to regret.

Certainly! Freedom could be deceptive a times...
ReplyDeleteShe is blessed that’s all I can say. Men like Stan do not exist anymore. The devil is like a roaring lion looking for who to devour. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. She is what I call the apple of Gods eyes.
ReplyDeleteYou need to speak more of these to our young generation of wives. Vividly captured the trend among young marroma women these days.
ReplyDeleteTara was just lucky and full of Grace
